got my G5 in a couple of days ago. I love it and I have been blasting away like nobody's business.
but I got a problem....I am very new to suppressors so bear with me... after shooting today and letting it cool down - I took the G5 off the phantom bi-lock mount and then I put it back on and now it wont come off. it turns counter clockwise and clockwise back and fourth but it wont pop off. the suppressor also wants to unscrew from the base plate if i twist hard enough. is this a common problem or did I fuck something up? |

My G5 did the exact same thing. Carbon has built up on the bi-lock causing it to jam up on you.............no biggie.
Just turn your weapon upside down, and soak the G5 mount with Break Free/ WD-40. After its soaked (may take a little while), smack the front end (muzzle end) of the G5 with a rubber mallet. The shock will loosen things up for you and it should come off pretty easy. Note: I have had to soak mine overnight a couple of times. The only way to help prevent this is to take the suppressor off and clean the mount with a brush every 100-200 rounds. I got tired of doing this myself and sold my G5. Much happier with my M4-2000. Good luck and take care. |

Try taking it off before it has time to completely cool down and seize up. The Ove Glove, or heavy duty welding/barbecuing gloves work well. Otherwise, as others have said, cleaning the mount every few hundred rounds is the way to go. |

Kel from Gemtech posted a link to a pipe cleaning brush that costs about $3 and is found at Home Depot in the plumbing dept. Buy one. It was a great piece of advice. I tried one on an M4-SD mount that we'd fired 400 rounds on and was tightening up and with a couple turns it was spotless like it had never been fired. Get the carbon steel bristles because stainless steel isn't as stiff and won't break copper loose.
AAC M4-2000 mounts can bind also, so The brush, and keeping system components clean at intervals is still a good idea. |
