My *only* local class III dealer only stocks the gemtech trinity in 9mm ($510 + stamp, transfer).

I'm going to shoot 147gn subsonic reloads out of a 16" 9mm carbine and eventually a 9mm handgun not presently owned - is there a "better" setup (trident, evo, etc) that would be worth ordering and potentially waiting longer on, or are they going to basically be about the same to my non-discerning ears?

My purpose is simply to muffle the flash/bang enough to not project my shooting habits to my neighbors, and to avoid hearing protection if possible.

I've seen other comparisons here but nothing with the Trinity system - any recommendations or advice from forum members here?

The Trinity is the loudest 9mm can I have heard, the trident 9 the quietest. YMMV.

Someone should do a poll:  which is the quietest "in your opinion" and then which is the loudest "in your opinion."   I figure that would help seperate the wheat from the chaff for us noobs.

If you were closer, I'd go through you BB - I've ordered parts from you in the past and have had nothing but positive experiences (I'm in east Cincinnati).

No expiriance but from what I've read here and elsewhere it usually shakes out like this. Trident is the quietest, Evo 9 more compact but slightly louder. My next can will be an Evo 9.

Search around, you usually see very little favor of the trinity.  It's usually between the trident and Evo.

Spend the extra $185 and get the SWR Trident. I have one in transfer at the moment. It will serve you quite well on a 9mm carbine or pistol. The one that I heard was very quiet on a 9mm SBR and worked very well on a pistol as well. The EVO 9 will serve you equally as well, but will cost you more.

thanks for the responses (none of my past searches pulled up so much as a mention of the trinity - I was surprised but now it makes sense).

Trident it is...  I'm more concerned with suppression and "value" rather than size.

thanks for your guidance!

I have a trinity on my 16" 9mm carbine and am very happy and have shot side by side with other 9mm cans of various makes and notice no differance in sound suppression. But if it was me I would try HTGs CYCLE 9MM can, I am even going to do just that soon.
