Been lurking around the forums for a while (this place is addicting) and finally decided to join up. Hope this is the right place to post this, did a quick search and didn't see anything (if so sorry for a duplicate thread), anyone seen this thing? Gerber Apocalypse Kit

It's got $255 dollars worth of stuff in it. If the case is worth almost $100 to you, then go for it.

Couple questions though...

Do you really need three machetes in the kit? I mean, feasibly this kit would be to carry in the car and be used to get you home to your preps and real weapons.

Do you really want an axe that can't be repaired in the field if the handle breaks, which it's been known to do?

I wouldn't buy anything with a Bear Grylls labeled knife in it, even if I were paid to do so.

I posted because I found it interesting, not that I would spend $350 on a kit that could be made for cheaper and/or higher quality. Personally I would rather spend the $350 on a case of IMI M855 ha ha.

Looks like a foolish waste of money.  It's just Gerber trying to capilaze on the current Zombie fad.

You could get good quality  equivalents of that stuff for half the price.   Gerber is generally made in China Crap these days.

Thankfully, (according the Gerber website) "The Limited Edition Apocalypse Kit is no longer available"

P.S.:  I was a bit disappointed with you guys at the lack of any Bear Grylls gray water enema jokes!

No doubt, I have not been impressed with any gerber blades I have seen recently.

For what you are buying from the bear grylls line the 'Ultimate" and the "Parang" are ok...I beat them up one day and I liked the handles...they did okay for 54 bucks and 35 respectively. Would I own them? Not unless they were given to me or they were all I had. As for the bundle of tools...I'll pass.."urine" your own....

The kit is pretty ridiculous.

The only thing in there I'd consider buying is the Gator knockoff of the Woodsman's Pal. Alas, I'd just buy an original, since they're still made in the good ol' USA.

As much as I like Fiskars/Gerber, it's just a shame that all their products are crapped out in China, now.
