Okay,
I have been considering getting a Gerber Prodigy Tanto. However, I donot like the ACU sheath that comes with the Prodigy Tanto. Does anyone know if the Prodigy Tanto will fit in the regular Prodigy sheath? And if so..........can you buy just the sheath from the Prodigy? Any suggestions? Thanks |

Thanks for the response and information. Perhaps I will just try to paint the sheath then. Thanks

For what it's worth, the digital camo sheath that comes with the tanto prodigy is a great sheath. It has a hard plastic liner that makes carrying the on a belt very safe. I like the Prodigy, and I will buy more. The one is none thing. And I consider that sheath to be a significant asset. 3 way retention system. 1) Positive locking into sheath. 2) Velcro wrap around strap. 3) Elasticized cloth to pull over the pummel. If you don't like the camo, paint it. It's a great sheath, but I do not know if they are interchangeable. Sorry. John http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81CYz3x6SSL._SL1500_.jpg |

I would just skip the whole line of gerber knives. All junk in my opinion Suggestions to an alternative in the same price range? Something tactical use with sheath? Kabar, Becker, or for a little more step up to ESEE |

I would just skip the whole line of gerber knives. All junk in my opinion Their foreign-made stuff sucks, however their American-made stuff isn't as bad as the reputation it gets. The new Gerber Strongarm is outstanding for the money. The MOLLE mounting system and sheath are honestly the best I've found at any pricepoint. |

I'll second this opinion on the Gerber Strongarm, the sheath is excellent and it can be had with a plain edge or serrations. |

The Strongarm does look interesting and gets good reviews. It's the only Gerber blade I would seriously consider |

I will be getting a Strongarm instead of the prodigy. Thanks for the advice. |

Kabar, Becker, or for a little more step up to ESEE Becker bk2 is hard to beat... Unless you beat it with an Esee5 BEWARE OF THE RECENT ESEE CHINESE COPIES VERY VERY SIMILAR. Randall posted pics of some Izula copies that looked like real esee knives. |

I know this is an old thread, but
when I found it again, I checked on the Prodigy's pricing. $31 on Amazon 5-28-15. Link Time for me to buy at least 2 more! John |
