Well this coming Friday I will be paying off FDE Tavor I have on layaway, I think I'm going to give it to my wife as a early Christmas  gift.

Nice! I couldn't find an FDE one. They only had black in stock. Two days from order to my FFL was great!

Here's a little tip if you plan on shooting suppressed in the near future and want a cheap fix, USE Hello Kitty duct tape to cover the left port to eliminate gas leakage to the face and when transitioning to left shoulder shooting keep your face/chin back and away from the ejection port.

i noticed that today.

i pulled the port cover and ran a bead of clear silicon on the inside of the plastic cover sealing it off. initial tests worked well if it lasts.

Nope.... That is not cool... you MUST use Hello Kitty duct tape to look "tacticool"

I wanted green, but I'm a lefty. So, it was either get factory lefty in black, or buy the color I wanted and go through the BS of getting a lefty bolt. I was also impatient, and bought my SAR before the green ones came out.

I've heard that the Tavor doesn't suppress well, but I haven't had a chance to shoot mine with a can yet.

I wonder if the muzzle and action being closer to the ear have anything to do with it.  IOW, perhaps you're just perceiving it to be louder?

I suspect it's because it's a short/long (?) stroke piston.  From what I understand, most piston driven guns don't suppress well.

So far I have about 100 rounds suppressed on my X95 with my Silencerco Specwar 556. It is still loud. I don't need ear plugs but it is loud. Also still gassy. It's coming from the top. I have a Gear Head Flex on it so nothing from the side.  I had a coworker shoot it then shoot my 5.56 sbr and I listened from the other side of the room. The Tavor is louder.

Once I find my AAC mount, I will try it with my 762SDN6 and see if it is any quieter or less gassy with the .30 cal can.  This might be my one rifle I don't run suppressed.

i fixed the smoke issue on mine. i removed the ejection port cover and added a bead of silicon between the panels the reinstalled and ran another bead around outside. no more smoke in the face through the cover.

i am not sure it's really worth running the can on this thing. mine is slightly less noisy than 22lr. might as well just run it open at that point.
