| I will say though not as strong as a high dollar unit, they do work. I have seen these being used on the Ghost hunters episodes and they typically have an IR LED bar of some kind to help them out. It's an option. I doubt it will give you the best results. I'm not ordering one, because for my specific situation, I wouldn't use it much. But I cam across that and thought it was cool |

This is merely a camera with it's IR blocking and UV blocking filters removed, allowing the camera to see beyond the visible spectrum.
If you just want a camera to stick behind your pvs14 you don't need to have the IR or UV wavelengths, since the NV outputs just one color, green. Separate from your nv it would need an IR source. |

And I'm pretty sure I've seen a C-mount adapter for a PVS-14, though you'd do better putting another ocular back to back with the threads and using a large-format CCD. Irrespective, you're always up for the cost of an image intensifier or similar - though I think SWIR models of camera are coming down in price now And thermal would also be a good choice in the size and price bracket... You can attach most camera modules to a pocket-sized DVR. Nothing is really going to be cheap, but the main problem with a normal camera based system is the gain, regardless of price. While the gain isn't sufficient to produce an image, it's not going to be suitable even if it's cheap. :( And just because a camera says "Night Vision" doesn't mean it will work at NL2 or darker - and some are challenged at NL1.
