As I get back into shooting after a many year absense, i want to get a new range bag. I have been to 4 decent gun stores this week, and saw a grand total of two different range bags.
Looks like I am going to have to go via the internet route... but, I figured there are probably some bags known to be the top of the line.... I need room for two pistols (a 1911 and a Ruger .22 for example), staple gun, tape, markers, glasses (two pairs), 100 rounds of .45, 200 rounds of .22, ear plugs, few tools, some oil / cleaning stuff and probably a few other items. Might be nice if I could fit my spotting scope in too..... ideas? |

take a look at the "i-shot" bags. they have a couple different sizes; the big one might be good - you might have a little extra room, might not...sound like you have plenty to pack in it. I forget the site where i found them cheaper than anywhere else, but it seems like the '4-gun'(that would be a stretch) is aobut $100 most places, but one place has it for $70 or something...
i have one, it has lasted well - a removable gun rug, places for 4 pistols, a removable inner bag, side pockets, 8 mag holders, best quality zippers, thick nylon, very nice padding all around, pocket for ears and drink I fill mine with ears, a big tube of 'wipes', 2-300 rounds of ammo (WWB/Blazer), some smithing tools, a timer, spare slides/parts, staple gun/staples, targets, I hate to be at the range and forget something..that said, I also have a 2-gun bag that fits just the basics, and sometimes if I know I am going to a certain shoot, I just take a single pistol case and put 1 extra mag and 100 rounds in with the pistol, and carry my ears. My 2-pistol bag is the Miday - they have had them on sale often recently - I think I got mine for $18 or $20 as an add-on to purchase deal |

I've been using an Uncle Mike's Deluxe Range Bag for the past three years, and it has been great.

Those are some great parts bins. Quoted:
I use a flight bag, has lots of room and compartments for all my stuff. I will hold 4 tackle box trays for all my parts, some cans spray cleaner/paint/clp, and all the comaprtments around the side fit all that I need. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/taylorwso/rangebag_NAMES.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/taylorwso/expandedbag.jpg |

Taylor you've got it dialed! Where can I get this flight bag that you have?
I had this link saved but just noticed its all backordered. So if the OP can wait these look cheap enough to get one for each firearm. LA police Gear. OP dont forget to peruse the Equipment Exchange here you may or may not see range bags for sale but id bet alot of the AR15 vendors found there carry prime examples. |

If you search for cencal flight bags, they are on the expensive side but you pay for what you pay for. The have double laced straps, metal rings-not plasitc, and very durable zippers, they are also padded. My wife got them for free, but they very durable since they are made to haul heavy stuff, like flight pubs. Not seen in the pic is 5 cardboard tubes that are glued together to fit the cans in to keep them from falling over. glad you liked it |

I bought two sturdy cordura tool cases(almost looks like a doctors bag) one I use for storage(when not in use transporting gear to the range) and as a range bag. I spent $15 each for these tool bags. One I actually use for tools. The Lesson to be learned is don't count out Home Depot or Sears in shopping for a range bag you can save alot of money especially in this economy. If you want an "official" range bag consider Dillon Precision. |

Worth the cash IMHO I would not consider this bag a permanent range bag, I've had one for two years and after heavy use many of the stiches are coming loose. If you buy it with the knowlege that its a "over seas" quality bag and you may be buying a replacement down the road that's okay, but if you want to buy one bag once I'd look at something else. Like one of these link |
