I've never owned a microtech before, and i found a SICK deal on one on gunbroker, so I picked it up
It's a Tanto Ultratech new in box and it only cost me $151 including shipping

Damn good deal.... I got one in trade a couple of yrs. ago. Days after I got it. I was at LGS and Microtech dealer offered me $300 for it, and i sold it, and spent that on a IR laser. Wish I still had it now. It retailed for $400+ and I loved hitting the switch. But I had,have a Benchmade auto as a EDC for 8yrs. so I sold it. but yours makes me miss it. Some day I get another I loved the quality. I need another trade or deal like yours...Nothing like an OTF.....

Pre-review first impression: HOLY CRAP, this thing is beautiful! Having owned a few of the knockoff "clones" i can say with absolute certainty that they do not deserve the term clone. This knife came sharper than any out of the box knife i've ever owned, has a higher level of fit and finish than any non-custom I own, and locks up MUCH tighter than the "clones". It also fires much harder My biggest worry was that it would be too small. It's not. I am a big fan of large knives for carry. Most of my daily carry knives are 3.5"+ so i was considering the combat troodon for the longer blade, but i'm glad i didn't. The ultratech tanto blade is the perfect length. It's long enough to be lethal if you find yourself in a nasty situation, but not so long that it isn't comfortable in my pocket.... i love it!!! Some of this will be reproduced in my actual review, but there will be more info, comparisons, and pictures. Tune in for the sequel |
