OK I've tried this on a few other forums and have not had a lot of luck.  Here's what I already know:
-Grayman has a great rep and is awesome to deal with.
-Yes, there are a lot of other blades/steels/makers out there that I could look at.
-I could spend half as much but, I could also spend three times as much.

What I am looking for, SPECIFICALLY, is first hand experience with the Grayman Darfur Defender, Ground Pounder, or Mega Pounder.  Preferably with the Defender.

I'm sorry if I sound like an ass but, have you ever posted looking for info on "A" and you get 15 responses telling you all about B,F,K,L,O,S,E, and Z?

I have a ground pounder with gator grip. It came to me with pretty crappy edge and I had to sharpen it. The guy I bought it from said his other grayman's were like that. It was also crudely finished, you can see marks/grooves on the blade. However once it is sharp it cuts pretty good. I chopped a bunch of shit up with it without problems, it did get dull and the paint was scratched up when i cut the top off a can of beans and it took me a while to get it sharpened up again. I really don't give a shit how it looks so I am happy with it, the guys on Blade Forum tend to poo poo it and say you can get a nice looking knife of the same steel from RAT Cutlery or Ranger/Ontario. The balance is pretty good, the grip is good, the sheath is a good simple sheath. Personally I am happy with it and just bought a mini dinka from him, which I hope to have this week.

You won't find much about them. There are a couple of crappy articles in the knife magazines, including this months' "tactical knives" (boy did I feel like a fucking idiot buying "tactical knives" in a suit, the cashier recognized me)

I sharpened it up and it easily sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers as good as a kitchen knife.

A buddy of mine has one.  It too was dull when he got it but I think it has a decent edge on it now.  I would love to have one just cause I like the looks and usefulness of it.  Then again, I am a sucker for good steel and knives.

Have you seen the Grax?  I want one of those too.

I have a ground pounder.  It exceeded all of my expectations when I recieved it.  It is solid as a rock and plenty sharp.  My ground pounder is the most solid knife I have ever owned or seen.  It truly is a knife made for combat.

I just got a mini dinka in the mail. They had some problem and shipped it out a little later than they said but threw in a t shirt. Neat little knife. You can only get two fingers on it so it's sort of a really thick neck knife. Doesn't seem sharp at all, but that's no big deal. I'll edit in a picture tonight.

don't know anything about Grayman expect what I've read.  check these out though if your looking for a unique combat knife.  the owner/make is great to deal with too.  almost every piece is custom made for the buyer

That's quite a good web site Grayman has.  It goes WAY beyond knives.
