Oprod tube Oprod tab Inside of oprod hump saddle of the oprod The oprod groove in the receiver the bolt groove in the receiver the bolt roller bolt lugs the spur on the hammer the side of the barrel where the oprod rubs under the rear sight if the oprod rubs there stock ferrule/barrel band interface You don't have to use much. A thin application is fine (I use a solvent brush). Cycle the action a half dozen times, then wipe off any globs that form (I actually just wipe off most of the grease). Ty |
I don't know about that. Every single source for M1/M14 lubrication I have come across has said specifically grease, NOT oil. |
m1a guys will be laughing at you if they heard say this, even though it may be true to some extent. modern day grease also improved. oil moves around! grease does not. |
I don't think what you lube with really matters. It's going to take forever to wear out a part regardless of what you choose. The nice thing about grease is that it stays where you put it and doesn't migrate down into the bedding (where it softens the wood or epoxy) and doesn't fly back onto your shooting glasses. Ty |
