Wow, what a difference a $5 can of "Great Stuff" spray foam can make in your factory GSG-5 stock. The stock and foregrip feeling cheap and hollow were my only real cons of the gun when I got it. One can of great stuff took care of the stock. Now I just need to decide if I want to get a railed forearm.

If you want a more solid feeling stock, I recommend you pick up a can and give it a try. I threw some fish sinkers in and didn't have enough to add the weight I wanted so I through in some big screws too. It should be cured by morning and ready to reattach. It's defiantly one mod I am glad I tried

Yeah, I had alittle bit come out around the sling mount area and as soon as it dried, I cut it away. It's good to go now

Heh, becareful when useing great stuff, it does have a high expansion rate. It can get real messy real quick.

So I assume you guys used the polyurethane based foam? That stuff is a sticky mess - did you guys have any problems keeping it from expanding too much and needing to trim the hardened foam back?

You can also find cans of black expanding foam if you don't want the yellow-ish Great Stuff.

I thought I would wait until after all of you were done......

I just found it out after I decided to fill my stock as well. The brand I found is called "Touch 'n Foam, Exterior Filler-Adhesive" and it was sitting right next to the other flavors of foam. Kind of hard to miss.

Are there any drawbacks to using the "regular" poly foam? I assume that whatever oozes out can be easily scraped off to hide the fact that the interior is filled with non-black material.

Any pics yet?

I put a 1/8" pop rivet in the sling mount holes to keep the foam from coming out.  Then I'll just paint it black.

did you guys put any extra weight in the stock to help balance it out at all?

I'm planning to fill the cavity first, then add weights. Some long/heavy railroad spikes can probably be pushed into the foam afterwards. That way, you can add more/less weight, and change the amount of weight after the fact.

thats a good idea. railroad spikes may be a little heavy IMO, but then again, I dont have my gsg yet.. :)
