I have an Amsec safe with an Amsec ESL-10 electronic keypad. Starting an hour ago, I can not open my safe. Normally, to open the safe, it's C-x-x-x-x-x-x-#; I would normally get a chirp each time I hit a button on the keypad. Now, the only time I get a chirp is when I hit the C button.sometimes it chirps when I hit the 2 or 6 but nothing else. I just changed the batteries too, so that's not the prob. I last opened it yesterday and didnt hear/see/feel anything of out the ordinary. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I think I remember TheSafeGuy saying something about only needing to replace the keypad in that situation. Hopefully he'll chime in.

One trick the safe company told me was before attempting to open the safe, turn the handle hard left and then hard right and then try to open it...There should be a lil movement both ways, he explained that it is resetting "something" My safe was a Champion Model T

Check the batteries' polarity?

Polarity is good. I changed the batteries about 2 months ago; you could hear the lock actuate and you just knew the batteries were on the way out. Replaced them and lock was working like new again. I just changed the batteries again today to double check and nothing has changed.

Im seriously considering it.

Just so happens I had problems registering my new "beater car" today, my Iphone broke (ear speaker failed on me), and now my digital keypad went.

I'm going to call a AMSEC tmmw and see what they recommend, then Ill try a few locksmiths to see if they got and replacement keypads in stock. If not, eBay and Ill have to wait. At least I still got my nightstand gun.

Well, today I bought a new lock and keypad and had it hand delivered. I plugged the new keypad in and it opened my safe with no problem. Turns out my 2.5 year old keypad was busted. Now I need to make a decision of whether I will convert to a mechanical combo lock or to a better-known electronic lock brand

IMO, unless you need that quick access of a digi, id go with dial.,

I went dial.  It's a PITA when getting in and out of the safe regularly...but mechanical means it's a lot less likely to fail.  If you need a firearm in a hurry, there are other options for storing one or two outside of the safe.  Better than needing it and getting screwed...
