One of my good friends and brother in arms just landed in Iraq. He is a sniper section sergeant for one of the 3rd ID Infantry Bn's. They are woefully in need of equipment. Specifically M14 mags. The section was short M24's and was issued 5 M14's to make up the difference. The M14's only came with 1 20rd mag. They got an additional 4 30rdrs per rifle, but they are foreign made and a POS - won't feed. (none) Currently they can only take 1 M14 out on ops as the other 4 mags are needed as a basic load. I am trying to get 25 mags (GI 20rdrs) to send over ASAP. - I have taken 5 of my own out of my meager batch as the first donation. I need to get 20 more. I have contacted Brian Sain of Adopt A Sniper. He said that he is currently supporting 121 sniper platoons all over the world and that their war chest ($ & gear) fluctuates greatly. I have forwarded a list to him for other equipment needs. Right now the pressing need is mags. Please email me if you would be willing to donate a mag - if you can, make sure that it is a GI mag that is 100% reliable. Finish is not an issue. I will email you my shipping address and if you desire, I can forward you the email I have recieved from him asking for help. Below is a list of other equipment needs, that if anyone can point me in the right direction, or give me a POC, I will do the leg work. spotting scopes Otis cleaning kit 7.62 / 5.56 / 50 cal graphite lubricant wiley sg-1 combat goggles 3 or 1 point tactical slings for m-16 Kestrel 4000 weather meter handgun lanyards drop holster or drop leg platform for berretta 9mm 3 day assualt packs 3 point chinstraps mil dot master elbow and knee pads any molle pouches (I.e. m-16/ 9mm mags, utility, grenade, m-203) Garmin GPS rappel/fast rope gloves Lieca 1200 range finder - or any 1000yd range finder Cammo Paint (colors) Dip (flavor?)
