I held one at Shot Show, now I have to have it.  Any word, thoughts, speculation on a civilian version in our lifetime?

I believe HK said they have no intentions of ever releasing a civilian MP7 for the US. Could be wrong though.

There are a few in Canadian civilian hands up here, although a general price is 12-14,000 dollars (there are like 6 or 7 maybe)

The thing was, that they were semi-auto only, and weren't modified from the original condition. I dont think HK would see enough market to make a long barrel version with fixed stock and such, or even a pistol version.... Too much messing around with the molds for the size of the market.

I think maybe they could do it if they did a pistol caliber (AKA 9mm, 40, and 45) version that used a strait pistol mag, and had "hard points" to add a stock and foregrip later to SBR it, but again, submachineguns and PDW's in pistol calibers are not as common as they used to be, especially when for a gun THAT size, you can get the same performance out of a normal cheaper handgun.

I know a SOT that has tried to get the MP7 to demo for PDs, and HK replies, "What PD is it we'll demo the MP7 for them ourselves."  The SOT I know has G36s, UMPs and MP5s that he has gotten post 86 and demoed (and sold) to many PDs.

Forgive me if I am wrong but I seem to recall Glock ended up doing the same thing with 18's.

Wasn't there talk about the company that is making the 416 and MP5 .22clones for HK making a MP7 too?

From the receiver markings on the 416 clone it looks like Walther is making them and Umarex is importing them

That's a double negative, implying that it will actually happen.

I would love to have a .22lr version of a MP7.  I hope it's not a POS.

I found it to have an unnatural feel in my hand in that it would cant downward enough that i would have to use the foregrip to adjust my wield of the weapon. I was not impressed in the slightest upon getting some hands on with the weapon.
Stock was not manipulated easily either.
Still looks neat though.
