Can a full auto trigger pack from an MP5 just drop into a Bobcat or other clone and readily function?

Is machining done to make it perform as it should when switched from a factory HK subgun to an after-market clone?

If it  is a NFA registered sear in a full auto trigger pack and the host weapon has a full auto bolt carrier then yes you should be able to drop it in any host and it will run without further modification to the host weapon.

Registered sears fit into semi auto packs, not full auto packs.  Full auto packs won't fit a semi gun w/o modification.

Thats what I meant.  I was trying to get across the point that no mods need be dome to the host gun other than a full auto bolt carrier.

Registered sears are actually NO caliber, a sear has no bore and hence no caliber.  "Registered In All 3 Calibers" is a sales line, means nothing. You can use your registered sear in ANY caliber you can make it work in.

Back in the days of Form 1 machine guns, people saw a "caliber" field on the form and erroneously thought they had to decide on a caliber for the gun in which the sear would be used right then.  The forms were of course accepted because it really didn't matter what you put in there for a sear and people took that to mean the sear's use was locked into that caliber.  The correct entry for transers involving registered sears was and still is "N/A" because there is no caliber associated with a sear.

This 3 caliber registration came about not because of F1 registrations but because there was a fear that ATF would limit HK sears to specific calibers.  Remember, prior to the HK and M16 sears being registered as NFA MGs, the only thing close to a drop in conversion were the M2 carbine conversion kits.  Since the M16 DIAS only had .223 uppers then, the HK sears were registered in multiple calibers as a CYA.  There were also lots of suppressor tubes registered too (without guts) as some manufacturers were afraid of a suppressor ban.

As for a registered pack working in a clone, I find most of them have the clip on shelf done too low and need shimming so it'll work correctly.
