Just wondering what you guys use to remove that extractor spring on the top of the bolt. I used a sharp pointed file and of course broke the tip of the file off. Now thats stuck in.Help

Even though I have two different factory tools made for the job....

I still just use a 1/16" drift punch.

Me too.

Be sure that you just "grab" the looped end and rotate it.  Don't try to pry it out.   Once you rotate the spring 180 degrees, it slides out very easity.

To put one back in, allign it the correct way, and force it in.

I use a small punch too or tiny screw driver.
Put it through the loop... turn it over and withdraw.

I guess I was not clear enough, the pointed end of the file broke off in inside the loop end of the spring. I think that I may have to use a dremel tool to cut the spring.

Oh c'mon... it can't be wedged in there THAT tight.

Use a small screwdriver to pry the spring up a bit and jerk it outta there with some needle-nose pliers.

Use the tip of a small finishing nail.
