Well guys.. It's time to take the plunge and dive into a plate carrier. I have my bob in the works.. I have my carbine and pistols.. Time to get some gear to go along with the toys so I can start training more..
I plan on going with a hsgi wasatch.. and i was curious as to how people were running there pistol with this vest. Drop legs? Cross Draw? I would just like to hear some opinions.. I know everyone will say personal preference.. and I understand that and I am sure I will try something and it won't work and I will switch, but what should i waste my money on first. I don't currently have a war belt setup if that matters at all. |

I keep mine on a drop leg SERPA holster. This way if SHTF really bad..... I mean really, really bad I can ditch my heavy armor/ plate carrier and begin my E&E plan. I can still defend myself with my pistol but I ditch the extra gear in an effort to move fast. Besides if I'm at this point my plate carrier would only have plates as my mags and frag would be all used up...... in theory at least.
BTW I love the HSGI 'satch series. If you check out the SKD tactical Facebook page and go into photos you can see some pics of my Wasatch with my set-up. SOS |

For a holster, I would go drop leg, or if you're not running a MOLLE belt, a belt holster, same reasons SKD said, that's also why I run my FAK on a subload and keep a boo-boo kit on my RRV.
Good luck with the Wasatch, I want one, but I have to finish one piece of kit at a time
