I'm looking to add an adjustable lop butt plate to my Savage 110 FCP 338 LM.

I'm having problems finding info on the make up of the HS stock.

I know to put the stock in the freezer or ice water and the factory butt pad should come off easily.

But once off, is the stock hollow?

And if not is there enough material at the top and bottom to secure the new butt plate to, or should I use some threaded inserts bedded into the stock?

The plan would be to use a hole saw to make the opening for the lop screw.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!

Why don't you ask H&S?

I cut down one of my stocks to fit better, and added a nice recoil pad. The stock is not hollow, it has a ridged foam core. I'll post pictures later

I replaced the recoil pad on my PSS stock and indeed it had a square like hollow in it.  It also had enough meat at the top and bottom to sink in the new pad's screws.  Of course yours may be different since mine is made for Remington.
