Instructions call for an A2 hider (vents at top only) I have an A1 hider on my M16... Any issues with this?

It should not be a problem. The newer Halos also mount to Smith Enterprise Vortex flash suppressors, which are non directional.

The A1 flash hider is fine. however if it is mounted with a crush washer you will need to remove that. You have 2 options after that. Use a peel washer or no washer at all. The Gemtech rep that posts on here has said in the past that he would go with no washer at all. With the A1 you are not worried about the holes in the hider lining up. This was the route that I took once I got my Halo. Use some Rock-Sett and snug it up.

The A1 flash hider is by far the better option than the A2, as it does not require any clocking and can be used without a washer. If a lockwasher or crush washer is present, simply remove, add a drop of Rocksett (or even Loctite) and torque to 35 ft-lbs.

Additional question if you don't mind a hijack.  I have a 14.5" with an extended A2 permanently attached by Rock River at the factory.  Will this work with a Halo?

Thanks

Probably too long.

I know it's not too long, but I'm worried about it being on concentric to the bore.  Is there any way to check?
