I am curious about the value of an original H&K 41 in Exc condition.

A couple of guys have told me that I might want to consider selling it because of its value to HK autosear owners...

If the value is there then it might be worth it to do so and pick up a "shooter" as well as make some $s.

But I can't seem to get much current price info as they are pretty scarce.

Anyone have insight on 41s and they're current value??

  Thanks

I bought one in Jan. at a local pawn shop for just over 2k, everyone that i've talked to said I got a steal

I too have been looking all over for other for sale to see what they're going for, but haven't seen one for sale since Jan.

So consider this a tag

FWIW...

The 28th edition of the Blue Book puts them in the $3250 range for one in 98% condition.  I think this is about right.

depends on the vintage of the 41.

+1. If it's a '66 HK41 with the pinned swing down trigger group, the price doubles.

The 1966 versions are worth 7-8K, these are the ones with swing down lowers.

The more common 1974 version normally brings 3K-3500.

I dont  believe anyone is using these for full auto "conversions" these days due to the value and scarcity of the weapons. There are only a few 100 of  these in the US including both years of importation. Besides that,  an HK doesnt really require a "conversion"  to be a select fire weapon, it only needs a registered sear in a trigger pack and a full auto carrier. These are drop in parts and the trigger packs can be swapped from weapon to weapon. Your market isnt the NFA crowd, its the collectors.  There is also a market in California as the HK 41 was left off the Assault Weapons list and can be owned (with modifications) there.

You can go to the HKPRO.com website and go to "world of HK". There is a fairly lengthy detailed article on the HK41 there.

A '66 HK41 recently went for $6,325.00 at the auction of Mr. Bruce Stern with bipod, bayonet and Heinsoldt scope.

The last 66 I saw sell went for 8400 which I thought was fairly high. Hard to judge though since Ive only encountered 4 of them in the US since the early 70s...

I have owned 3 of the 74 model 41s though and still own my first one. I've had it a bit over 30 years and you dont want to know what I paid for it...

I have a HK41 marked 10/72

Anybody out there know anything about that?

They didnt have any imported into the US marked with that date, all either 66 or 74. Are you referring to the date on the left side of the receiver? The only thing I could think is it is a German model purchased in Germany and brought here by a GI. Do you have photos of the markings? Both sides?
