<Insert typical reloading noob disclaimer here>

Since the AR platform has a free floating firing pin, should any care be taken in selection of primers?  From reading the FAQs here and talking with people, it seems that some primers are harder than others, but is there some threshold I should be aware of, or some brands to avoid?

My initial loads will be for a .308 AR with an emphasis on accuracy over economy or hunting ballistics.

I use the CCI 450 (small rifle) for my AR reloading but I also make sure they are seated properly.

Wolf primers seem to be hard, and i have not had one issue with them in my AR.

The key is to seat primers .002 to .005 below flush.

I use Federal (said to be "soft") and CCI 400's for my AR - never had a problem.  But, I ensure they're seated below flush and (as it always should be), drop the bolt only when pointed in a safe direction.
