Anyhow- the authentic Israeli barrels had a slightly different thread (metric) from barrel to receiver, so there was some rework required to rethread for standard receivers (which are inch thread). Basically just running the inch die over it. (Or doing the reverse on the receiver if you decided to go that route.) That barrel is new DSA made, with the 1-16 standard thread already, which matches the DSA receiver thread. So you should be good to go. Not sure what GP’s current opinion of DSA might be, however if he wasn’t doing DSA parts he wouldn’t have hardly any work these days… Pretty sure most experienced home builders could put it together, so it should be pretty easy for GP. If you wanted you could also just have DSA assemble the barrel to the receiver, install a properly headspaced locking shoulder, and everything else is pretty simple after that except refinishing it. |
