Been kinda looking at muzzle-loader pistols lately and haven't really come across anything in my price range that I like.
The 2 types I like are the Pedersoli Howdah Hunter (double-barrel pistol) and the Pedersoli Le Page dueling style pistols.
The closest thing to my budget and styling I like, is the Traditions Crockett Pistol shown below
I've been searching arms-list and gun-broker from time to time and haven't really found much.
I recently stumbled on an ad that advertised a double barrel 44 caliber pistol. The ad had no pictures, so I emailed the seller and asked if he could send me some. These are what I got in return.
Could anybody help me identify this gun? Maybe give me a little help on value and if it is safe to shoot? I'm not looking to hunt with the gun, but I don't want to have to worry about shooting it.
As a side note, I see a listing that keeps popping up on Arms List for a 50 caliber Traditions William Parker pistol. I like the styling of it and the price is pretty good, and I have read good things about them. Would it be worth it to go with the Traditions William Parker over this mysterious double-barreled gun? The William Parker has some minor finish issues, but I would at least know what I was getting into as far as quality and maker.
Here's a pic of the Traditions William Parker pistol.
