A friend of mine sent me this, we can't figure out what it is. Headstamp is 4 DA 81, we thought possibly Dominion Arsenal from 1981. The measurements for the case are in the first picture.

We thought possibly 7.5x55 Swiss, 7.65x53 Argentine, or 7.5x54 Mauser but none of those are a good match. 7.5x54 Mauser is the closest, but the diameter at the shoulder is .466" where 7.5x54 Mauser is .442", and the length to the base of the neck is 1.870" where 7.5x54 Mauser is 1.825". The length to the base of the neck is almost right on at 1.700" actual vs 1.684" per the drawing below. The longer length from base of the case to base of the shoulder throws off the shoulder angle too.

Help!

Sorry guys, I linked them from the forum we are both a part of. I think The Mocker got them, but I edited my OP just in case.

7.5x55 Swiss is close but I don't think it's correct.

Actual diameter at shoulder base: 0.466"
7.5x55 Swiss: 0.458"

Actual diameter at neck: 0.326"
7.5x55 Swiss: 0.338"

Actual length to shoulder base: 1.700"
7.5x55 Swiss: 1.755"

Actual length to neck base: 1.870"
7.5x55 Swiss: 1.854"

With a shorter length to shoulder base and a longer length to neck base, it makes the shoulder angle 44.76 degrees instead of the 61.00 degrees shown here.

It's a 7.5x55.  Dimensions are nominal, plus the headstamp is a dead giveaway.

Because it's Dominion Arsenal from the early 80's?

Perhaps the case's original dimensions were much smaller?

We are dealing with a fired case here after all, so I'm not sure those dimensional drawings apply at all.

Shoulder angle was the first thing that stuck out to me.  Great cartridge really.
