Hey guys,

I've got a standard 18" 870 with a plain front bead on it. I would like to switch it out and put in a yellow fiber optic front sight. I was shooting a buddies 1100 with one and really liked it. Like I said I have the standard inexpensive front bead on mine with no dovetailing or such. I'm not afraid to drill and tap if needed as this gun is going to get some Norrells soon anyway. I have C&R on file with midway and Brownells so if there's an option there I'd like to go that route. I just haven't been able to find a good way of doing it. I'm hoping you guys might know the answer.

Thanks

Nox

Hi Viz make ones that directly replace the bead with the same thread pattern.  Brownells sells them or you can order direct.

hi viz and tru glo make fiber optics beads that clamp onto the plain barrel, it sits in front of your bead, is not permanent, made of plastic and wont scratch the gun and is quickly put on or off. costs about 15-20 bux

Thanks,

It looks like this might do the trick. It also looks like Brownells has dropped them as well, but it's not a bad price direct order.
