I need a small admin/gp pouch that is ranger green or similar and preferably has velcro on the front of it.  I purchased a Diamondback Tactical Admin/Flashlight pouch and it was too big for my setup.  It brushed right against the top/back of my mags and bothered me there.  This is the pouch:

http://www.diamondbacktactical.com/product/Diamondback-Tacticalreg-AdminFlashlight-Pouch,189,52.htm

I need something smaller and it doesn't have to be too thick.  I need it to hold a couple of 123 batteries, some paracord, and maybe a small notepad and pen.  I might put a few more things in there if they would fit without being too cumbersome.  The front area of my vest that I can use is about 5"x10".  It looks more like 6"+ in the pictures below, but top line of velcro isn't molle.  I need the velcro for ID patches.

Here's my setup:

ETA:  The mag pouches stick out about an inch from the vest because it's an ATS shingle mounted on top of pockets built in to the vest  that hold pens and chem lights.

Since height of the pouch seems to be the issue,  the Tactical Tailor Horizontal E&E pouch seems like it would work.

Emdom's Baby Utili-Shingle Pocket and Gadget Pocket are but just a few of the various small zippered GP pouches that come to mind.. http://prostores2.carrierzone.com/servlet/emdomusa/Categories?category=General+Purpose

I'm not sure if this:

Would fit on your rig or not, it sounds like *maybe*.

I really like mine, and I'm picky.

That MSM Stealth Admin pouch looks great and all. But it might be too tall for the area where he is going to put it...

I have this pouch, and I personally would pass. Mainly due to the fact that it doesn't have a flap closure (or even a zipper) for the main pocket. It's too easy for stuff to fall out. Trust me, I know..

I recently found that TAG makes a nice sized admin pouch.  I'm going to order the Rampage with flap once I get around to it...

So far, I'm liking the gadget pouch the best.  I wish it was 1" thick or less instead of 1.5", but it's short enough (4") that there should be an inch of space between it and the top of my mags.  It's thickness will put it about even in height with the mags but the space should allow me to get my hand behind the mags if I need to pull one out.

Keep the ideas coming though, in case there are others that I have missed.

You mean this one?

I like the ZULU Nylon CAOS.  It is about 6 inches tall.

The pogey pouch seems too thick at 2.5 inches, when the rest are 1.5" (unless the 1.5" pouches expand when anything is put in them).

And the bangs are issued.

The Side Kick pouch is a smaller version of the Condor T&T admin pouch

Admin pouches like these are way too big for my purpose.  I'm still leaning towards the Emdom Gadgett or now the HSGI Pogey.  I don't like the flap on the pogey but I can cut it off.  HSGI doesn't offer one in ranger green, is the smoke green close or is it more like ACU?

Have you checked out ATS's combat leader admin pouch(CLAP)? Thin and compact.

We had a long discussion on admin pouches a few weeks ago but here's my take on the MSM pouch I did in another thread

Exterior

Great quality and got it from a member here during a trade. Two compartments and obviously one big swath of Velcro (hook and loop) for the trademark adverse here. The bigger compartment holds a good bit of stuff:

Made well and holds equipment that you want to access regularly. Flashlight, protractor, multitool,etc... and the front flap has a detachable map case and a few pen loops. Enough room here for the Etrex and the emergency beacons and more loops. Not much to say about it, but it works well with the bag. I wouldn't put it on a chest rig because it serves its purpose better on a pack. It can be loaded to the brim and that means heavy and if you want something that heavy and bulky your chest then to each his own but it can be done.

For the record, I'm going to use a TT Admin Pouch Enhanced on my chest when it arrives and I have the rig too.

are you talking Mk13 Day/night flares replaced by Mk124 Day/night flares or Mk141 NFDDs

I didn't need anything big on my upper chest so I went with the smallest thing I could find to hold the few items I wanted handy.

MilSpec Monkey Patch Panel

Very slim, small and out of the way with hook and loop on the front. I'll get a pic of it on my carrier tomorrow.

I use this one for almost exactly the stuff you want to put in it....pen and pad, batteries and a multitool.  It works for me.

Only comes in RG and OD though.

I have this one and I like it a lot:

BDS Tactical admin pouch

They have a new larger pouch that you can see on the first page if you click on accessories.

I was going to recommend the MSM PP, but thought that it might be too plain jane in nature... lol

Again, I have one of these, and think that he should go with something with a flap or zipper closure. Once you pack the main pocket full of gear, the velcro on top doesn't hold it closed. Sure, you can use 550 and a cord-lock to keep it closed, but then it's not as quick getting into. Also, the flap on the 'flashlight' pouch is VERY short. So short that my SF 6P/G2 will fit in the pouch, but you can't get the lid to stay closed!

IHMO, this would be better...

.

This Frontal Assault pouch by Spec-Ops looks to be pretty thin, but it's hard to tell just by a photo.

Smoke Green is very close to ranger green..

The flap is used like a compression strap to keep the pouch tight and not flopping around.

Here's some pics of the MSM PP.

On the front of my plate carrier. Holds a few items and goes over my RTI wheel when I don't need a chest mounted holster.

Don't know if they make RG but here's an extra OD one I have laying around.

And the interior. Not too much room but that definitely cuts down on the bulk aspect.
