I worked as a gunsmith for several years and never seen such a tool.
It could possibly be a homemade tool for holding certain rounds steady to hollow point them on a drill press.depending on the hole sizes? Would there be another shim piece to go in front of the curved movable piece that would match the hole sizes? |

its a drill fixture.. but for what IDK.. For custom 1911 barrel links? That's what the plate with two holes reminds me of. But then I see they're different sized holes. Aren't they usually the same diameter? They could be set up for drill bushings, maybe even shop made bushings. |

| I agree with the 1911 barrel link fixture idea. Are the holes in a barrel link different sizes? The holes on this are .155" and .205". I also noticed, underneath the barrel link looking thing is a radius, similar to the radius on the pusher thing. Why would someone want to make thier oun links? They can't be very expensive. |
Wow...that was weird. I typed a response and it disappeared when I hit submit.
Anyways...I pulled the barrel out of my 1911 and without pulling the link pin out, it's not popping out with a push, it looks like the hole diameters match the ones you listed. It looks like the outside to outside distance, rather than center to center - not feeling like digging out a hammer and punch and doing the math for a center to center measurement, sorry - is ~0.149"-0.150". I'd say you've got a jig for making links! Congrats! |
