Its a PAS-5, Gen 0. Also goes by the name SU-49 made in the very late 60's and into the 70's by ITT (IIRC). From the looks of yours its israeli surplus, 70's vintage. You do need a decent IR light source for these to do much of anything BTW, and even then don't expect alot.
The manual lists it as a BA-1312/U, 3 volt battery FSN 6135-269-5843. This place has it: 1.35vx2 http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/sbc_military_catalogue.htm Another place for LR50 batties. http://shopping.microbattery.com/s.nl/it.A/id.4884/.f And no I really doubt you could upgrade them to gen2, just look around for a used set of PVS-5's if thats your bag, much better goggles. |

Thanks for the info guys I was just wondering what they were and if they could be upgraded.
He has Gen 3 as do I so no big deal just figured if they could be fixed for cheap or upgraded he might give it a try. As far as these go I cant get them to come on. Tried running wires to it and a surefire Batt and got nothing. He had 3 of the small 50 Batt's but they did nothing either. |
