A friend of mine inherited this NV monocular from his father, and he cannot find the box/manual to ID the unit to set a price on it
So, I told him that I knew some experts that could ID it for him 
What say the hive? Its defiantly a Gen3 unit, its crystal clear. Not a PVS-14 because the battery compartment is different

But very nice optics - a milspec unit with a lower grade tube and they work pretty well. Problems are the switch ( often fails ) and they have no purge - Intended for SERE purposes. A lot of people get a Micro housing ( the C-mount one ) and move the lens and tube to it, which gives you an exceptional monocular with a PVS-14 style mounting point and a very small size and weight. One of my favourite scopes is a Micro with a M703E main lens. Regards David

Regular J arm positions it too low if I remember correctly. And they are heavier than PVS14. Nah, works just fine with j-arm and rhino. No adjustable gain, so ir lasers tend to bloom. |

What do you think the recoil rating is for this? It was never meant to be weapons mounted, so I don't think there is a rating? Maybe a recoil rating for the tube? |

But, I take them apart usually and sell off what I don't need. I only want the tube and objective lens. I then go to Night Vision Depot and buy the Micro body with no lenses (400 bucks roughly). I get a PVS-14 ocular or an Anvis ocular and assemble a very nice scope. No adjustable gain but a solid lightweight unit that mounts to standard PVS-14 accessories. I sell off the remaining Envis parts to lower my cost. I have done this many times and always build a real nice scope. You can get the Micro ready made with lenses if you choose (700 bucks give or take). Envis lenses are superior. One of the best low cost mods in night vision IMHO. First step ? You need to locate a Envis at a decent price. From there the rest is easy. It is a DIY project but I love to build night vision so it is not a chore. |
