I have a 5.56mm can and I want a .22 can. I'm trying to decide between these two:

http://www.gem-tech.com/OASIS.html

http://www.yankeehillmachine.com/store/22Mite.html

If I get the Mite it would be the thread on version with a P-22. Both are in stock and close enough in price that the features are more important. This would be purely a range toy. I do not have a threaded .22 rifle right now but I might in the future so the Oasis has a slight disadvantage there, however, I have a Ciener kit for my ARs and I can use the 5.56mm can with it if I am so inclined. I do already have a Mk II.

Household Six will not allow the ARFCOM standard "Get both." So what would you do? Pros or Cons? Anybody own one or both?

If it was me...I'd pony up the extra cash for a Warlock or Spectre.

ETA: I think the first step is to decide whether you want an integral can or a muzzle can.

I know it's not on your list but you should seriously check out one of Green0's checkmate QD cans.  Google Griffin Armament. I have one of the first run editions and love it. I hear the second gen are even better and SS and will also handle .22 mag.  I hae one on my MKIII and I have used it on my friends P22 his sites clear it..barely. Great little can IMHO and it's user serviceable......that is what I would recommend....a user servicable can.

If you don't already have a thread-mount .22 can I would go that way first.  There are lots of great .22 hosts and chances are you'll appreciate being able to put the can on rifles and other pistols.

Once you have a thread-mount can I'd look hard at integrals for the cool factor.

I would suggest opening up the options on the thread-mount can though.  There are lots of good choices out there to include SWR, AAC, Tactical Solutions, Gemtech, etc.  Many of these are top performers.  Don't just let price drive the decision.

The dealer had an Outback II in stock so I ended up going with that and a P-22. Thanks for the input, guys.

ETA:

Incidentally, I've been doing a lot of poking around on Google and I can't find a picture of the inside of the Outback II. It's not that important and I guess it's proprietary but I'm surprised that I can't find any pictures of the internals and I'm a little curious. Anybody know where I could find a picture?
