I'm looking for a very specific backpack for my MP5K (MKE).  It's almost like information overload looking for them online, so maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

Right now I use a cheapo school backpack but I don't like how the MP5 just kind of flops around in there, there's no padding and the backpack is just thin cheap fabric.

a) Big enough for an MP5 with folded stock but not too much bigger if possible. Place for a few magazines and misc small stuff.
b) Under $100
c) Padding so it's held in at least somewhat securely. I don't need custom form fitted foam or anything, just a bit of pressure on it to keep it in place
d) Preferably velcro to secure it in
e) Nondescript. Doesn't have to be all black or completely featureless, just want something that looks like a generic backpack.

I may be a bit negotiable on b) but hopefully not much.

I've been kinda looking for something like that for my Uzi SBR. Something to carry it, a few mags, and maybe some other gear.

Haven't really found anything perfect though. I see the same issue you've been talking about, avoiding having the rifle flop all over the place inside the bag.

Have a look at laptop backpacks.
Swissgear makes some decent ones.
They have a padded compartment that should take an MP5K.
Lots of compartments for mags, & stuff,

I picked up one of these Drago Tracker about a month ago for my CZ Scorpion SBR.

It fits the gun well - it does not have velcro tie downs (but anyone can add that is it's desired) - has storage area in the main compartment that fits 30 round mags like it was designed for them.

I picked mine up for about $50.00 - I bought the Gray one, and like it a lot.

Take care,
Bob S.

P.S. I found this when I went to find the link above...  Drago Tracker Review

It's $180, but Elite Survival Systems STEALTH covert backpack is probably the best solution to your requirements.

Damn, that Elite bag looks pretty damn good I'm tempted but $180 is a bit much.  Might also be a tad tall for what I'm looking for.

The Draco one also looks good, that's on my consideration list now.  I am also looking at laptop bags, possibly in conjunction with a foam "laptop sleeve" unless the bag has one built in.

That would provide protection for MP5 plus a boring laptop bag look.

This is what you want. Use mine all the time with several different sbrs.
Lots of useful pockets.

2 main inner compartments , one padded ,and an outer pocket for mags etc...

i used to use a laptop bag for it before the dap pack.

That's what I was going to suggest as well. See specs here.

It's very well built, and nicely padded. I used mine one year at Knob Creek to haul around my Uzi for the Subgun match. Add 600 rounds of ammo and mags, and it gets a bit heavy. But the pack handled it well, where a "cheap" pack would have been splitting it's stitches in short order.

I found an odd solution for my MKE.  I was at Home Depot one night and was wandering around the tool section and found a Husky brand briefcase.  I have been looking for something to carry my MKE to the range which was a little nicer, and it looked about the right size.  Plus it was on clearance for like 4 dollars, so I wasn't really out anything.  It's the absolute perfect size for the MKE with the folding stock.  It has some internal pockets which hold magazines.  It has some padding, but it's better than what I was using before.

Briefcase

I think it was a previous model of this one.  It doesn't really have a lot of storage, but I bring a range bag with me when I go shooting.
