Ok I am about to purchase a scope for my PTR-91 on a super low mount from MFI or whatever its called.

I have been really thinking about doing a fixed 10x scope such as a Bushnell 3200 or a Super Sniper

But

I also think I might be better off down the road in if the SHTF with a 6x scope?

Any thoughts?

I have a ptr with an mfi rail as well.  You didnt mention what you were willing to spend, but in a similar price range and with fixed magnification to the bushnell and SS options there is also Ior's line of fixed power scopes in 4x and 6x.

heres a link to two that seem to fit your criteria.

ior 4x for $440

ior 6x for $580

Sub 350 dollars

Or should I just do a 3-9X?

Ok,

I have always heard that adjustable zoom has different points of impact, true or not true?

Also I want something with target knobs as well

if thats what you're willing to spend, I think you're on the right track.  The burris and ss options fit that bill.  be careful though-you don't want the overall length of the scope to be long enough as to interfere with the charging handle, and eye relief could be an issue as well, possibly necessitating a larue mount or something similar since the mfi rail isn't as long as something like the b&t mount.

ill illustrate those thoughts with 2 pictures

eta im talking about the longer b&t mount, not the one in the pic

The Bushnell 3200 10x has a 3.5" eye relief and a 40mm front lens, so what size rings should I purchase?

probably the high ones, but I'm sure whoever you get it from would let you send in med ones for high if they didn't clear the rear sight.

Just ordered the bushy for 179 bucks from SWA.  Ill probably just try and match some rings up at sportsman wharehouse this weekend.
