Got a bunch of 249 barrels like below and I'm trying to strip them down.  Flash hider is easy enough to get off, but I'm getting stuck on the gas block.  I would think that the pin could be knocked out with a punch and the block would just slide off, but they're really holding firm.  Is there a better way?  Also, I'm pretty sure the barrel extension is permanently on there, but let me know if there is a way.  Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I suspect those gas blocks are pressed on, but I don't really know.

20 ton press will do it just fine

eta: just be careful not to bend the barrel doing it

Gas block are pressed on, then pinned in place.

Make a FS type end piece that you can spin the FS off, spin the end piece on the Fs threads , then this will allow you to press the blocks off with a U shape anvil via the barrel shoulder of the barrel to not bend/mar the barrels themselves.

FYI, if these are used barrel, then pretty much figure that they where burnt up and why they where sold off, and although may be good for a projects for burner barrel with new chambers, the rifling has seen better days as well.
