Well I kinda messed up and put way too much Rocksett on my FH for the m4 1000. I put about 5 drops on there and in the instructions it says to put only 2 drops. That's what I get for being too impatient and not reading thoroughly. Anyway, should I heat up the flash hider? I tried doing a search but nothing came up. Thanks for your help, Zack |

If it is on, leave it on. If you need to take it off, try the wrench first. Be careful not to round the edges of the flats. You might try sticking a very think flat blade screwdriver in the slots of the mount for some extra leverage. Wrap the blade in electrical tape if you are worried about scuffing up the mount with the screwdriver. If it isn't coming off, time to go to the MAPP torch. I've removed several M4-1000/M4-2000 mounts this way that absolutely would not budge with the wrench/screwdriver alone. A little heat did bust up the RockSett. The heat stop paste is a great idea and I use it. Hope this helps. Mark |

No, YHM does NOT any longer make these for AAC and they never sold them directly. AAC has a bit of a shortage on their mounts right now due to most going to the military. We (PSI) buy whatever doesn't go to the military usually and have a healthy supply of all types. You can order directly from our website. Let me know if we can help. Yeah, Rocksett will NOT come off with any amount of heat that you can reasonably and safely apply. Heat resistance is its primary asset, which is why it's used on suppressors a lot. Contrary to popular belief, Rocksett is not a permanent adhesive. it's designed to come off with hand tools like blue loctite, but has the heat resistance way in excess of red loctite. |
