Interested in survival knife.  Been reading about Gerber, Kabar Busse etc.  I don't remember jack**** from school about steels. I recently ran across an Ontario survival kife in a pawn shop.  It has bayonet lug, black blade, partial serration, fairly big blade, and is in a sheath that has wire cutter . Looks rugged enough to me but I'm a rook.  Is this full tang, easy to sharpen, hold an edge? Could I baton if needed.  Is this bayonet really a survival knife?Oh yeah he's asking $100.  Deal or should I pass?

Look into the Ontario Spec plus line,
1095 steel and full tang

a 100 bucks seems like a lot to me, but then again  Idont own any Busses or Rats etc. (wish I did)

definitely the M9 except black blade instead of stainless.  Thanks for the great info so far- and the videos!  I'll look into others as well.  If you guys thought it was a good deal I was thinking of offering like $60.  After looking at ontario knife site I can see there seem to be much better product for the $.  Thanks to all for the info.
