I got my stamp back quicker than I expected on my 870P SBS. The receiver is being engraved now and I'm about to have my local gunsmith/machinist cut down the barrel to 12.5" and have it threaded.
This is an 870P from Summit. I have already put Magpul furniture on it, but need some help with what else I need. I also have a Salvo for it. Since I'm taking off the extension tube that is on it, I guess I'll need to get a new spring, correct? It has an orange plastic follower... is it gtg? What about sights? What do you guys recommend? I saw one that looked like had a rail on top of the receiver, but couldn't tell what kind of sight it had. Anything else you guys recommend? |

I have a similar setup. I had rifle sights installed on my barrel by Guncat. I'm not opposed to ghost rings sights but I've seen a few too many which weren't installed TDC on the receiver and didn't want to risk an NFA gun. You'll want a standard magazine spring. I don't care for the plastic followers, it seems they all eventually start getting gunk jammed into the polymer and stop running smoothly. Vang Comp makes a nice stainless follower as does GG&G, I've got the GG&G in mine.
I installed a Surefire M300 in a Unity Tactical Fusion mount to keep it nice and tight to the forearm, it works well.

Thanks guys! Mine has the rifle sights on it now, so I guess he could move them back when he cuts the barrel. I'm used to just using a bead, so I'm not really sure what sights work well on a setup like this. I was looking at the Vang Comp Ghost ring sights, but I really don't know what works well and what doesn't.
I'll look at a stainless follower... thanks for the advice. I really like how compact your M300 looks on yours. My Magpul furniture kinda stands out. I was going to do FDE, but found a blaze orange set and decided to give it a try. It's kinda starting to grow on me 
Can't wait until my Salvo gets in and I can try it out. |
