I have narrowed my choices between these two BOBs.  I think I'm leaning towards the verispack due to the ability to throw over the shoulder.  But more importantly, what should I put in it?  3 AR mags, 3 pistol mags, pistol, flashlight is about what I have come up with.  What do guys put in yours and why?  And any other suggestions for BOBs is appreciated!

I vote the versipak. Got enough room for 6 AR mags in the inside, with the center room good for a partial mag dump pouch. 2-3 pistolmags in that side pocket. Nalgene pouch for agua frio, and the front pocket is good for an emergency med kit. also, the glasses case can hold a pocket smoke, or flashlight, etc. It's good for thowing over the shoulder and going. I also use it as a manbag to carry my pistol/wallet when my clothing doesnt permit.

Looks like the County Comm (or variant) Bail Out Bag.

Decent bag for the price. I wish you could stow the carry handles as they tend to get in the way sometimes.
Also, at least on mine, the front "mag pouches" can each fit 2 AR mags, but the flaps aren't  long enough to close.
Wish they thought that out a bit more.

I have the Bag not the Versi. Price is obviously less for the bag and it can be worn over the shoulder like the Versi. I am able to get a pistol, 3 mags, 4 AR mags (more if I wanted), food, water, knife, assorted essentials, etc in it. I think it is really more about what you are looking for the bag to do. The only thing missing on the bag would be a belt latch like the Versi has, but I could make one pretty quick i am sure.

I've used both and eventually drifted towards the BOB.

For my travels, the Versipak was just a little too different. The BOB fit right in when slung across the shoulder.

The BOB had more versatility for me and my needs and is a best buy for the price hands down. The inner Velcro divider allowed me to configure it the way I wanted with some Maxpedition and Eagle pouches and anything I could need quickly was accessible without trying to undo a zipper while moving.

Great bag for a better price.

Can the Bail Out Bag hold a Nalgene type 1 liter bottle?  The pockets appear a little small to hold a water from the pictures.

Is the shoulder strap padded?

Thanks

The end pockets each hold a 1 liter Nalgene bottle.  If I was needing to travel light one will hold rice, the other beans or oatmeal.  The shoulder strap has a pad, but it's not very thick.

FWIW LaPoliceGear has them for a new price, $26.99 and are available in three colors.

The two side pockets each hold a pair of 20 rd. AR mags, or about 5 standard 1911 mags.  I keep a 3C Streamlight TwinTasklight in the long lower pouch, and the vertical light pouch can hold a Surefire light (but I keep a cheap as hell 2C River Rock led light to stay compatible with the Streamlight's batteries).  HTH.
