Hey guys...picked up a DLink 932L Cloud camera just to experiment with setting up some cameras around the house.
It was SUPPOSED to be easy to access and get running...I'm no techno geek, but I'm competent. I, for life of me, can not "find" the camera on the network. Seems my version ATT router's WPS button is disabled...can't use that method. I use the setup wizard that you get from the DLink website and try to "search" available networks to connect directly with WEP password...doesn't find any networks... Anybody have DLink cameras that you have been able to connect that can provide any insight? Thanks for help...I know the cameras are cheap, but it's a start...if I can actually get a wireless feed. | The first thing that you might want to try is having the cameras and the router close to each other (same room) when attempting to have them discovered on the network. Some devices will not establish that link when the range / signal present issues. If that works, once they have been configured on the network, they can be physically relocated to their intended locations (and hopefully, all will continue to communicate). |

Not sure if your camera is set up the same way, but I had to plug my cameras into the router first to configure them before I could run the on wifi. Exactly. Do this first. ETA: it can't authenticate to your wifi, so it won't be visible on your wireless network. It needs to be hard-wired to your network FIRST, configured through the hard-wired connection, THEN unplugged and accessed via wifi. |
