I posted this on the shotgun board as well. Sorry for the dupe. I purchased a used FN TPS off the board Monday and tonight is the first time I've had time to work with it. The weapon didn't come with a manual (ordered from FN) so I used a Winchester 1300 manual as it's based on the same action. During atempted disassembly I have been unable to remove the trigger group. Prior to attempted removal I cycled the action, put the safety on, and removed the aft pin. The action is full forward. The trigger group is supposed to tilt out, but it's not released. What am I missing (besides a brain)? |
I'd done that. I also removed the grip. I wound up having to remove the stock, as the stock screw was too long and preventing the trigger group from moving. I installed an Enidine shot shock, standard castle nut, and a slightly shorter screw to solve the impingement problem. With the shorter screw, removing the trigger group is a one screw process (the way it should be). I also found out that if you overtighten the single pin with a side-saddle mounted the trigger won't pull..... Live and learn. |
