First time submitting a Form 1 to register a lower receiver for building a SBR.
I have no idea how to fill out the section 4 with descriptions of the firearm to be made..........plus, what do I put as the reason for making the firearm? The reasons are (1) it will be good for self defense and will have a suppressor on it plus (2) for recreational purposes. The Form 1 asks for overall length, etc., and I haven't even made the upper yet. Can I estimate the overall length or are there standard length tables available here showing approximately how long it will be with the typical collapsible stock configuration with, let's say an 11.5" or 12.5" barrel? Is there a link to instructions on Arfcom giving help on these sections? Thanks for any info. ETA: I mean, it is like I have to make the rifle first to know these measurements exactly but I won't have a tax stamp yet!? |

Does this sticky help?
For OAL, barrel length + 19" usually gets you close. For reason, most use something like "all lawful purposes". Don't write a long sentence. "Personal collection" or "recreational shooting" should also be OK. Most people have left description blank in the past. Although, putting the name and city, state you'll engrave won't hurt. |

Almost all lowers have a model engraved. That's what you use. EXACTLY as engraved. Quoted:

Line 4(d) asks for "Model"...........it won't be any model other than the maker of the lower receiver...........correct? Or do I just leave it blank? Almost all lowers have a model engraved. That's what you use. EXACTLY as engraved. Thanks Waylon........I appreciate it!!! Oops...........I see your name really isn't Waylon.
