I need a high speed 223 case trimmer. I'd prefer one that DID NOT have to be mounted in my reloading press.
What would you suggest and where are the company web sites? |

Giraud Tri Way if you want to provide your own power (a drill for example) $90 ish and which is what now I use on a drill, or Their power trimmer if you want a powered unit $500 ish
added benefits .... in addition to trimming they both chamfer and debur at the same time as well end of discussion imo |

Little Crow Gunworks Price is right. It cuts clean. Inexpensive to add additional calibers to. Chuck it up in a drill or drill press. I do not chamfer or debur my case mouths after trimming with it as I run the cases thru my SSTl media tumbler after trimming. |

Only way I'd give up my RT1200 for .223 or 300blk is to replace it with the RT1500, sizing and trim in 1 step is the high speed way

Only way I'd give up my RT1200 for .223 or 300blk is to replace it with the RT1500, sizing and trim in 1 step is the high speed way OP wants something not mounted to a press.. But I agree... you would have to take my Dillon trimmer out of my cold dead hands. It really is the fastest trimming method. If you want a RT1500, you should sell your 1200 and buy a 1500. I lost a little obviously, but I feel better about trimming full length 223 into 300 now. OP, keep in mind trimming a lot of 223 will hurt the fingers after a while. I used the WFT for a year before I finally sprung for the Dillon. I would never go back. My fingers thank me. |

I just measure how much of the shank of the bit is sticking out the back end of the body when you have the case the length you want. Write that number down. Dont have the exact numbers in front of me but when I switch between .223 and 300 BO all I do set the depth on my caliper, lock it, set the bit by length, cut a case and check it. Pretty quick. Probably would be even quicker if designated a couple of cases for master cases, .223 at 1.748, 300 BO at 1.355, put them on a key ring or something. |
