Hello all,
May sound like a stupid question but here goes. Does high velocity in Germany mean the same as high velocity here? I found some Federal Spitfire (31 grain) copper plated hollow points at Gander Mountain here in Minnesota that have a factory posted velocity of 1500 FPS. They spank that little rifle like a red headed step child!! There certainly is a noticeable difference in the report as well as the recoil compared to the Federal bulk packs. The bolt slams back like it was hit with a hammer. Now that I have shot them, me no wanna shoot nothing else. I guess time will tell if the little black rifle will hold up. |

Sounds similar to CCI Stingers which are 31 grain 1640 fps. Definetly a hotter round, Fun to shoot, but expensive, in comparison to bulk stuff. Guess it depends on how much you shoot and what you want to spend.
Also, POI is completely different on HyperVelocity stuff like this. Sight the gun for stingers or spitfires and it will shoot normal stuff way low. SO once you sight it for that ammo, you have to shoot that ammo. |

Another MN person. good deal.
I let mine eat the wally world bulk packs, but I have played with all kinds of different ammo. I havent found much it wont eat. I even used some Aguila Super Colibri (sp??) 21gr subsonics. it wouldnt cycle, but if you yank back on the charge handle it would eject and load the next round. They are QUIET! I have a few Aguila 60gr subsonics I want to try too, i forgot to try them last time out. |

V1Vr,
The Spitfires are about $3.60 a box. They shoot very clean and are alot cheaper than Stingers, well worth the price in my book. As far as the POI for the lighter slugs goes,I learned about that 50 years ago when I started throwing rocks!!! But thanks for the advice anyway. |
