What are most folks paying for monitoring? I had a security company comeout on an aditional house we own, They specced out 3 window breaks, 2 window contacts, 2 door contacts, 1 motion sensor, and a heat/smoke detecor, and a wireless transmitter, with monitoring. The install on a single levelhome with underhouse crawl space and attic is going to e around $1200 and the monthly monitoring is about $45.

Does this sound about right? I am thinking the monitoring is a bit expensive. What is everyone's experience.. THANKS!!

I use Protection One and pay around $35 a month including wireless backup.

The company i install for charges 19.95 a month.

Sounds right. But it all depends on area and company, etc.

I bought a wireless system that calls my cell phone, because I didn't want to pay the monthly fee's.

It will call up to 4 people, and will tell you what zones went off.
