Ok, I know this has probably been answered before but the search  engine on this site is horrible!!!   1 search every 60 seconds are you kidding me? WTF!  Anyway I digress.  When reloading last night after running my press through the up and down stroke i noticed it did not totally index.  I had to push the shell plate around a little until it clicked into place.  Has anyone else had this problem  and if so how did you fix it.  Also,  I deformed two cases because of this before I figured out what it was and it was after I primed  them.  I have 2 cases that are primed with no powder.  I can probably salvage the case if I run it through my sizing die but what do I do about the primer.  Seems a little dangerous to size/decap with a live primer.  Help.............Change the search engine parameters AR15.com!!!!  Get with the times....  Thanks guys.

You gotta pay to play, join team and support the site, you can search all you want.

As far as your issue I'm not sure about the index problem. Someone should be along to help.

I would probably just trash the 2 cases. Though if you have a full face shield and NO POWDER in the vicinity you could try going slow and popping them.

There are adjusting screws on the indexing pawls down at the bottom of the ram.  They need periodic adjustment.  The instruction manual will have all the info on what needs to be done.

The directions for adjusting are on Pg. 17...  http://www.hornady.com/assets/files/manuals-current/metalic-reloading/LNL_AP.pdf

Before you go jacking with the pawls make sure your shell plate is seated and snug on the indexing pin. If you missed lining up the slot in the shell plate with the indexing pin or the plate worked loose and slipped off the pin it cant advance correctly.

Funny you should mention it that's what it was supposed to be. I did not even notice I typoed the screen name until about post 125 or so when I was asked "What the hell is a Mugbug"....Epic fail on my part....

If you haven't gotten something else messed up, it's the indexing pawls at the base. They are only visible when you pull the handle down. The one on the right is for indexing when you pull the handle down. The one on the left is for indexing when you push the handle back up.

I have to adjust the left one because it sometimes forces the rotation too far. But just a tad too far because the spring loaded ball under the shell plate brings it back into proper position. Screwing it in farther (the pawl) will make the shell plate under-rotate. Letting it out farther will over-rotate the plate. It works the same for both.
