I have gotten a PCBS Precision Uniflow Powder Measure (and it says I have to clean the factory applied rust preventor.

The diagram shows the powder hopper off but it came assembled and does not appear to come off easily and they advise against it when removing a measuring cylinder.

Any suggestions on what solution would be best used to remove the rust prevenntor? My biggest concern is spraying down to reach the main casting and not damaging the powder hopper/

Thanks in advance,
Walsh

Throw it in the sink with a good dish washing detergent. and scrub it good. Actually any good cleaner that will not eat plastic or isn't corrosive should work just fine.

After it is clean either dust the insides of everything with powdered graphite or use dryer sheets on it to reduce static. I prefer the graphite because it stays there as a barrier. As you use it it will add its own coating from the powder itself helping to keep static away.
