I really like my M82 and does any know many rds they last for?

If you plan on trashing it at 1200 rounds PM me and I'll take it off your hands for recycling.
It's a firearm, when a piece wears out send it back to the manufacturer and have them fix it. That way it will last a lifetime and can be passed on to your children and theirs... I would think that after a few thousand rounds it will need some work, probably replace recoil springs and any buffer parts. If the rifling is still Sharp have the chamber set back and keep going for another few thousand! It's just like any other piece of equipment, take care of it and you'll be good to go. |
| The 82A1 family will go quite a few thousand rounds no problem. When I was at Barrett, it was pretty common to see USMC or Air Force EOD guns come in with 7000+ rds down the tube and still hold 2.5 MOA with M8 AP. We would regularly fire them to check the accuracy after checking throat erosion. |

You can pretty much trash it around 1200 rounds. Some just have to derp in threads. I have maybe 1K on my M82 and still same accuracy as the day I bought it. I would have much more if I could afford to shoot more and had a range that allowed 50BMG. Mine usually just plays safe queen until an opportunity arises where I can shoot it. |
