Sorry for the stupid question but I was just cleaning my DSA58C18 FAL and noticed that the gas piston spring appeared to be broken.  I don't think it's supposed to be two pieces intertwined together.  One piece measures 8 3/8" while the other measures 2.0".  I've put 400 rounds through this rifle.  Is this normal wear and tear or should I be looking at something else??  I quess I need to buy a few springs-maybe one can fit in the SAW grip compartment.  Thanks.

It should be one piece, but in all honesty it will work fine with it broken. "Ol Dirty" ran with a broken spring for thousands of rounds. They are only a few bucks or you can just get a spring set for the whole gun. I dont think one would fit in the grip though.

Thanks.  I ordered some springs from DSA last night-let's see how long that takes.
