How should a Soft Shell fit? Loosely, so you can layer with fleece etc., or about like a regular outer garmet (BDU etc.).

Do you get it in your regular size (example: Large), or one size larger (ex. XL instead of L)?

I always thought a soft shell was supposed to be somewhat snug.  basically enough room for a layer like under armour or wool under layers with enough room left to still more freely

It fits how you want it to fit.  I bought mine to wear over fleece if necessary.

I make sure they fit pretty tight on me, but I generally like 'fitted' shirts and jackets.

Depends. The TAD Stealth I have is kinda snug but it's a rather stretchy material so I can wear it stand alone or with a pretty heave fleece underneath with no issues. But in the end it's your preference.

I like mine a bit loose to allow fleece & layers underneath.  It makes the sleeves a little too long, though, so I occasionally need to cuff them.
