Im thinking about picking one up to go along with my 7x57 Ruger mkll. I know its on a 98 action but I have a bunch of handloads with 175 grain bullets at 2500fps which is my standard hunting load for it.
If its in good shape it should handle my loads fine, right? |

Made by Steyr, as is mine? I dunno about others, but my Modelo 1912 easily dismissed not one, but two catastrophic case failures using defective Izzy 7.62 milsurp ammo.
When I say catastrophic, I mean that the case split from the edge of the primer pocket out to the edge of the rim, and then about halfway up the side of the cartridge case. Just make sure the headspace is GTG, and you should be fine. |
| My Modelo 1912 runs fine on my medium powered reloads. It shoots high with iron sights, so you might want to look into a replacement front site from Brownells. This is my next step, and I read the Brownells site comes extra tall so you can trim it achieve proper elevation. |
