| SiCo guys said to install it without any grease, lock tite, etc, don't use a crush washer, and no specific timing needed. Just bare metal to metal and torque to 20-30 ft lb. This is my first time doing this. How do I ensure I torque it to 20-30 ft lb using just a wrench or a multi tool? Thanks. |
| I don't buy that "no threadlocker" nonsense. There's plenty of threads here where people have had their muzzle devices loosen because they didn't use Rocksett, Resbond, etc. The method I use is a Geissele Reaction Rod + torque it with a wrench. 30 ft lbs is a good amount of torque. But I degrease the threads and use a couple drops of Resbond on the muzzle device before I torque. |

Meh, I used a little loctite (can still get it off if I try) and torqued that sucker down with a crescent wrench. Hasn't given me a lick of problems yet (I own 3 trifecta mounts)... Red or blue loctite? How tight did you torque it with the crescent? What was the feel you were going for? Did you have the upper in a vise? |

Rocksett and a torque wrench. Don't be a cheapskate. Go to harbor freight and get a torque wrench. http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=torque+wrench How will any of these work? Will the socket fit over the FH and I torque it from the muzzle? Every video I have watched shows a multi tool or crescent wrench being used at the base of the FH. Sorry if that doesn't make sense. |

Blue (1 little drop) No idea on ft/lbs, just "pretty tight" Yes All I wanted was to make sure it won't back off or vibrate loose, but still removable with a little effort. My opinion (worth what you paid for it) is that it isn't a precision operation. |
| Just an FYI regarding Blue Loctite. 242, the old standby, breaks down at about 300° F. 243, which is a more "oil tolerant" version of 242, more or less, is good to about 360° F. Something to think about when using it to lock down something that will get pretty hot. Just sayin'... |
